Civil Rights Office Mission Statement

To guarantee that all employees, applicants, visitors and beneficiaries of the Department of Transportation and Public Works and the Highway and Transportation Authority are treated equally; that they are denied no rights on the basis of race, color, sex, age, national origin, social condition, political ideas, creed, veteran status or handicap. This guarantee implies that both Agencies will abstain, through affirmative action, of incurring in discriminatory practices and if so, the Civil Rights Office will act within the scope of its responsibilities, without delay, to correct the situation, including recommending disciplinary action.
